Bronze statue featuring Esmeralda after Édouard Houssin. Esmeralda is a fictional character in Victor Hugo's 1831 novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (Notre-Dame de Paris). She is a 16 years old Gypsie girl. She constantly attracts men with her seductive dances, and is rarely seen without her clever goat Djali. The group is set on a round plinth in red Griotte marble imitation. Ancient cast signed E. Houssin. Marked with the name of Phoebus, Captain with whom she instantly falled in love to the point of obsession.
