An exceptional pair of 19th century French gilt bronze sconces after a 1749 Rococo model by Jean-Claude Duplessis. French - Paris CIRCA 1880 These outstanding sconces of wonderful size and color, with asymmetrically curved, fruit-bearing acanthus leaf arms and corresponding urns, spouts, and pierced collars radiating from matching slender, leaf-shaped back plates, were made after a model datable to 1745-49.
